"A gun for Ringo" and "The return of Ringo" are two 1965 'spaghetti western' films directed by Duccio Tessari, with the actor Giuliano Gemma in the lead. Very little time passed between the making of the two films, which to the detriment of the title and the protagonist have very little in common due to the enormous success of the first 'chapter'.
The soundtracks of both films, signed by Ennio Morricone, show the incredible versatility of the composer, who at the time was already strong in the collaboration with Sergio Leone in "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For a Few Dollars More": thanks to the contribution of the conductor Bruno Nicolai, of I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni on the choirs, Michele Lacerenza on the trumpet and Anna Palombi on the harp, in Maestro he composes scores of a predominantly classical matrix in which a wide range of sensations and dynamics develop, and where epicness, drama and tension alternate with more reflective and romantic moments.
