Together with some fellow students, film student Jason is shooting a low-budget horror film in a remote wooded area when the radio talks about resurrected, cannibalistic dead. The hasty return home quickly turns into an escape when the group finds confirmation of the media's bad news and encounters deserted streets, hospitals and indeed the undead. While unrest increasingly breaks out among the students in the mobile home, Jason uses the terrible reality as a backdrop and films a reality that far surpasses the horror of his fictional plot.
