Befriended by racketeer Nick Palmer (Brian Donlevy), sleazy newspaper photographer Jack Early (Howard Duff) is suddenly granted access to a vast criminal underworld. But he may have gotten in way over his head when he betrays new pal and mentor Palmer, putting himself in the line of fire. Has Early snapped his last pic?
